Within the OFID/UNDP project “Energy Access SME Development” OJSC “Systemavtomatika” will implement the following tasks in 10 villages of Soughd, Khatlon, Districts of Republican Subordination and GBAO of Tajikistan.
The main objective of this sub‐project is creation of affordable business environment amongst rural Women in 10 pilot villages of Tajikistan for energy access to small-scale GE and RES technologies among rural women population and SMEs.
It is planned that the target groups will be women society and community residents including women-SMEs operating in 10 villages of Tajikistan and engaged in promotion of small-scale GE & EE technologies in Soughd, Khatlon, DRS and GBAO districts of Tajikistan.
To achieve the above‐mentioned objective, the sub‐project aims to do the following actions (but not limited to):
With a purpose of solving of current social problems several small-scale RES technologies should be installed in social facilities and small production workshops:
It is expected, that by the implementation of this sub‐project the following results will be achieved (but not limited to):
Installation of 30 solar PV systems up to 1-2 kWt capacity in social and public facilities (like schools, medical houses, kindergarten, orphanage houses, baths/ Hamam, sport complex, etc.) and Installation of 70 solar water heaters (100 liter capacity) and 30 solar water heaters (200 liter capacity) for rural women on the level of households and 7 solar water heaters (500 liter capacity) for social and public facilities, like schools, medical houses, kindergarten, orphanage houses, baths/Hamam, sport complex, etc.). There sub-projects should be in close collaboration with energy committees. At least 8,101 households (including 4,500 women-headed households) should benefit from these projects. Local households should reduce their energy costs to 10-15% by reducing use of fossils and firewood;
Installation of 8 solar PV systems up to 1.5-3 kWt capacity for development of women business and farming including local production workshops (sewing, fruit drying, dairy, canteen, canning, etc.) and other small-scale business manage by Women groups in rural areas; At least 750 women will improve business conditions through use of small-scale RES technologies and EE techniques (cooking, heating, etc.).
Establishment of Energy Women Groups on the bases of Women Resource Centers which should solve energy scarcity problems in 10 pilot villages, development of local energy efficiency strategy and diversification of energy sources. Trainings of energy women groups and on-job practical activities for use of RES technologies and basic operation and maintenances (O&M) of installations should be conducted / provided. At least 20 community representatives (15 women and 5 men) should be involved in each energy women groups. Besides, capacity building workshops should be conducted.
Providing of 100 small-scale portable PV systems with lamps and charging of cell phones for rural households; Providing of 100 small-scale portable PV systems with lamps and charging of cell phones for shepherds, pasture users, livestock keepers, beekeepers.
Information campaigns with participation of beneficiaries, on the radio, video clips, brochures with case studies, round table on management of energy resources and promotion of RES technologies. Distribution of published materials among on the local level.
